DO WE NEED TO PRACTISE?

Inseparable part of education in our school are apprenticeships. Because of my class’ profile, which gives a posibility to become a teacher, I had to engage in helping kids from primary school. My work lasted a whole week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.

My duty was to lead classes for a small group of student, which had a problems with the current program realized on compulsory lessons. Firsly I was telling them to do their homework. I was giving them some time to try to do it themselves. If they had not understand something, I was explaining it using the blackboard. I was dictating them another task in order to check if they had understanted everything. Mostly it was enough. If some students still had a problem with a particular subject, I was giving another exercises and then teaching them individually while the rest of group was learning, because teaching face to face is more efective.

The time devoted to an apprenticeships showed me how practise is needed in our stage of education. We are learning how to use the knowledge gined in school in practise. I feel strongly that it is also a great motivation to study, because we can see results of our work and derive satisfaction from helping. Furthermore, the apprenticeships gives experience, which is necessary to be employed in the future. Thanks to them, we will be able to work immediately after school graduation.
