Probably related to Lithuanian rangýti (to writhe), pointing to Proto-Indo-European *wrengʰ-. If related to Ancient Greek ῥίμφα (rhímpha, quickly, fast), the root is to be reconstructed as *wrengʷʰ-.[1]
