1. (archaic) prosecuting attorney.
   • 1894 June 10, “ข้อบังคับสำหรับกระบวนพิจารณาที่จะได้ใช้ในศาลไทยกับฝรั่งเศสผสมกันอันเปนศาลที่จะชำระคดีความพระยอดเมืองขวาง (ร.ศ. ๑๑๓)”, in ราชกิจจานุเบกษา, volume 11, number 11, Bangkok, page 87:

     คำฟ้องหาซึ่งพนักงานผู้เปนทนายแผ่นดินแต่งขึ้นนั้นจะต้องแจ้งความให้ผู้ต้องหาทราบอย่างน้อยที่สุดก็ ๓ วันก่อนเวลาที่จะเปิดศาลชำระคดีนั้น

     The charge which is drawn up by the officer who is the public prosecutor must be notified to the alleged offender at least three days before the court opens the trial for that case.

     ข้อ ๑๔ ทนายแผ่นดินแลผู้แทนรีปับลิกฝรั่งเศสจะซักไซ้พยานคนใดคนหนึ่งซึ่งผู้ต้องหานำมาสืบนั้นก็ได้
