Reading books is becoming less popular nowadays

Personally, I like reading books very much although I agree with the statement that this way of spending free time is becoming less popular nowadays. And what is the reason of this fact?

I think, the main reason is that people don’t hace enough free time to sit and lose theirselves in a book. It doesn’t depend on their age because it refers to both adults and teenagers.

First of all, people have many promblems which make relax impossible. They are always on the run and for most of the the most important thing is making money. So that they spend their time on working, working and once again working.

As far as the teenagers are concerned, they prefer doing something differnt to readibg books, for exapmle watching TV, going to a pub, to a cinema or to a disco with friends.

Another thing is education. More and more young people want to get it the best possible. So why would they be “losing” their precious time on reading when they can be learning then?

I would like to add that contents of many books we can find on the internet and their number still grows. A lot of people think that tradicional books will be replaced in the future by virtual ones. In my opinoin they are right.

What’s more, the prices of books are so high that not everyone can afford it. Maybe if the books are cheaper, the situation will change for the better?

Local governments try to rescue books from falling into oblivion. There are organised different conquests or action due to spread books and readnig.

To sum up, the books really become less popular. Unfortunatelly, I must say that things being as they are and I’m afraid that we aren’t able to stop it.
