Famous person

I think that being a famous person isn't easy. We sometimes see that artists are perceived as a mad people, whose work doesn't have any sense. It has to hurt those people because I'm sure that they've been working hard for a very long time and when they see opinions like that, they are disappointed and propably they don't want to hear those words again, so they could lose the motivation and stop their career.
I think that example of a famous person, who weren't understood in her country, is Violetta Villas. I can't imagine that anyone doesn't know her. She used to be a singer, an actress, a composer. She created many songs, and gave concerts all around the world.
Since she was a child, she was singing, dancing, playing a violin, a piano and a trombone. When she was 19, she started learning in a music school in Szczecin, than she moved to Wroc³aw. She was a very talented person. 'It's a really incredible voice, I can't believe it's so strong' – that's one of the commentaries, which appeared in the media after 'The Grand Music Hall de Varsovie' - Polish variety programme which was emited in 1966. She has created her own style – a long, curly, fair hair and a long dress. Because of her style she was criticized. Some people were trying to made her to became 'a grey artist', but she has been continuing her independent life. For young person it was a very hard thing, but many people who loved her were giving her the motivation, so she could create something beutiful. Since she left Poland, she started a new life. In Las Vegas she was a star. She was singing with e.g.: Frank Sinatra. Her name knew eyeryone.
In the USA she started her actress career. She took a part in many movies. She wanted to sign a concract for 8 years with Pearson Pictures but her illness made her to come back to Poland.
In Poland she was invited by many people to their TV programms. She was in the centre of the public life. Here arised a few movies about her life e.g.: 'Dream about Violetta', 'A Woodpecker ', 'Dream about a Cinderella '. Of course these time she was criticized too, but she really didn't care about this.
Her private life wasn't successful in general. She was married twice. First time when she was 17 she married a lieutenant Gospodarka. Her parents made her to this marriage, but she didn't really loved him. She has got a son with this man, but they got divorced after a short time. He didn't let her to sing – he made her to choose – he or singing, so she took her son and moved to Szczecin. Than in 1987 in Chicago she met a businessman – Kowalczyk – who became her second husband. Their relationship was successful, but than she noticed that he was trying to exploit her to his business. She got divorced and moved to Poland again. He gave many interwiews in the media about their marriage, but she just told after years in Krzysztof Ibisz's TV programme 'I made bad, that I believed so fast'.
Violetta Villas is a very religious person. She loves animals, so she set up an animal shelter where she was giving love for lonely dogs and cats. It was a part of her life. Some people thinks, that the animals have ruined her career. When she started looking after the animals, she disappeared from the public life. She has been closed in a psychiatric hospital and spent there a long time. When she left it, she told to the media: 'I want to cry with a happiness. Because how does released from the hospital person can feel after those horrible experiences?'.
Now she set up other organisation – The Violetta Villas's Foundation, which would care about animals and a new, talented, young artists. She appeared in the media again. Maybe she would appear on a stage? Who knows..
I think that this time she'd succeed and again prove to other people that she's worth of her name and she'd do many other good things which wouldn't be forgotten. I suppose that she's a great person, whose lifestyle and personality is unique and fascinating. I think that she's the one who made a lot for our society not just as an artist, but in general as a human. She tought us that we cannot give up in a hard situation and nobody can make us to being someone we don't want to be.
