Character is a reasonable facsimile- an exact copy of a human being, with all the good and bad traits of being human.
Setting is the where and the when of the story.
Plot is the plan, design, scheme or pattern of events in a work of fiction, the organisation of incidents in such a way as to induce curiosity and suspense in the reader.
Theme is the central idea that the literary work explores.
Point of view is the voice in the story, the speaker who is doing the narration.
Description is the exposition of scenes, actions, attitudes and feelings.
Dialogue is the conversation between two or more people.
Commentary is the insight or illumination about the characters and actions.
Style is the manipulation of language.
Tone is an attitude or attitudes that the author conveys about the material in the story and also towards the readers of the story.
Irony is the use of language and situations that opposite from what might be ordinarily expected.
Symbol is a specific thing that may stand for ideas, values, persons, or ways of life.
Allegory is a story with a double meaning: a primary or surface meaning, and secondary or under- the surface meaning.
