Old Ortodox Church in Hrubieszów.
Hrubieszów is a small town on the east of Poland. It is located only one hour away from Ukraine. There is a monumental Ortodox Church which I really want to describe. In my opinion it could be the biggest pride of that town.
The church is situated in the centre of the city near St. Nicholas Catholic Church on a big area surrounded by trees. It was build in the eighteenth century so it is quite old building with rich history and tradition.
The first thing to be noticed is very special style of the church. First of all, the building has an enormous size. From the outside it is rather straight and modest, without any ornaments but what is unique this is only one Ortodox church in Poland which has thirteen cupolas.
More astonishing about that building is its interior. Everything inside was made in a byzantine-russian style which is has much in common with splendour, richness of decorations, relics and so on. It makes an amazing impression.
It seems to me that this original Ortodox church is one of the places which are worth visiting. Furthermore, it gives us an occasion to get some knowledge about a different culture, religion and tradition.
