I am not a passionate film watcher, but sometimes I come into a movie, which really wakes me up.
Here is one I'd like to share with you,
After graduating the university an excellent student and sportsman Christopher McCandles decides to break away from the dull and comfortable future awaiting him. He gives away all his belongings and money to a charity organization and plans his "trip of the lifetime" to Alaska.
While bringing his plans to life he is confronted with various ways of living. He shares experiences with hippies, a loving couple, a seasoned eldrly widower. Through these frienships he can have a glimpse of "what is it like" and move on in his journey of searching his own way. Throuhout this adventure he writes his diary, which is the key component and guide in the movie. There Christopher names the things, feelings and people with his own words like Adam in Paradise after creation. He starts with himself-Chris turns to Supretramp.
"Into the wild" directed by Sean Penn is a film based on a true story which happened in the 90's. Beautiful lanscapes together with music and thoughts on the diary pages flow together before our eyes in perfect harmony. Emile Hirsch very authentically casts a restless spirit searching for the truth and the key to his life.
I recommend "Into the wild" to everyone who values freedom, truth and passion of life.
