Why do young people escape from their homes?

Teenager’s escapes are a huge problem. Police catching a lot of runaways everyday. Why they want to sleep on the streets instead of warm beds? There’s a lot of reasons. I shared it in four groups. That’s my way to understand why they do that.

Sometimes they live in pathological family and that’s my group number one. Parents hit them or drink or sometimes both. Kids can’t stand their parent’s sight because they are unconscious or aggressive. Escape is the only chance for a better life. Because maybe they will be lucky, maybe somebody will help them?

The second group of children want to be noticed. Their parents work all days and haven’t got time for them. Society called them ‘kids from good houses’ and it is a surprise that they are unhappy. These teenagers have got everything what they dream about but love. Because there’s no one who can hear them, cuddle and say that everything will be alright. They feel like no one understands them and everybody’s opposite.

The third group is just mad. They have got everything and more. Material situation is okay, they get well along with their parents, live a great life. And something happened… They don’t want to be like other people. They start to tell everyone that their parents are bad and nobody understands them. They behave like those from the second group but they are just pretending. They are bored and want to do something different, no matter what. That’s why we have got emo-kids in our society. They escape because they want to impress their friends. They are as fake as it is possible and they think they are cool but it’s just their own imagination.

And the last group – childrens who want to prove that they can be self-sufficient. They think they don’t need care of their parents and want to do everything on their own. They aren’t pretending that parents are bad and live is hopeless. They just want to show how much they are worth and how independent they and smart they could be. Or they maybe want to test their abilities before starting their own adulthood?
