There are a lot of actors and actresses whom I like but there is one I admire. This is Sophie Marceau. This is a French actress and also the wife of a Polish director, Andrew Zulawski. She was born in Paris in 1966. She is a pretty brunette woman. When she was 14 she acted her first role in the film entitled "La Boum" ("A party") directed by Claude Pinoteau. She received for this role, the Cezar Prize the biggest prize of French cinema. Then it turned out that she was only 17 years old. Everyone said then that she is new Brigitte Bardot. She starred also in "L'etudiante"("A student"), "Descente aux enfers"("Descent to hells") and lately in "Ann Karenina". But the most interesting movie for me is "La Boum" and "L'etudiante". I think these are the best achievements of this actress. The first one brought her fame all over the world. Everybody took to her as an actress of a face of whimsical child. She acted in some American films like: "Braveheart" with Mel Gibson, "Firelight" and "Lost and found". These roles brought her full acceptance of the audience. Sophie Marceau is a very interesting person. She is a confessor of Buddhism religion. In her autobiographical novel "La Manteuse"("The liar") she wrote: "I found in Buddhism the sense of life. Sometime I was surrounded by blank, now I can find joy in everything that is connected with an ancient Indian path of the Enlightenment". She is a very sensitive and talented actress. Her films show that she prepares very carefully to her roles. I like this way of acting and I like generally the French cinema. Apart from another French actress Catherine Deneuve, I think she is one of the most talented and famous actresses in France but not only. She lives in Paris but also in Warsaw. She is the mother of Vincent. She has recently appeared in the film "La fidelite" directed by her husband. She is also known for writing some stories for children.
I admire Sophie Marceau and appreciate her for joining psychological, comic and dramatic roles. Speaking about her, we can say: the child of the contemporary cinema.
