“In what ways do you think your childhood has influenced you as an adult?”
I came from typical Polish family where I had mother, father and one older brother. My parents worked from morning until 4pm. Child support was maximum and I usually had everything what I needed. My parents taught us that only hard work is essential for good life. I learnt from my parents to work and make money honestly and save up for future.
My mother wasn’t very strict but she made me learn a lot. I remember the long evenings spending at doing homework or reading my notebooks and student books. I usually didn’t have enough time to go outside with my friends. All week except weekend I had to work hardly learning . It has a good influence on my adult life. I’m studying and working and I’m really happy doing this. Every weekend I try to spend outside like visiting my friends, going disco or just relaxing at home by doing nothing.
My mother taught me to take care for wild, hungry animals. I remember that she never threw old bread away and she kept it in the special bag. Every weekend we were going to park to feed needy birds. Ones in the freezing and snowing winter we found cats mother with 3 kittens. They were wild but so hungry that they let us to take them. I was very happy to can look after them. They settled in very quickly and we had 4 domestic cats. This experience learnt me to care for animals. I used to feed animals so I often go to park which In Glasgow we have many and enjoy giving them food.
I think that childhood has an enormous influence on adult life. We copy our parents behavior even If we don’t know about that. It’s very important to give our children a good and suitable example because it wil have an impact on theirs adult life.
