savi
Catalan
Etymology
Inherited from Vulgar Latin *sapius (“wise”), from Latin sapidus (“delicious, wise”). Despite the spelling, no dialect shows a pronunciation with /v/. The expected spelling with ⟨b⟩ is attested in Old Catalan.[1]
