From earlier بللو (bellü), from Proto-Turkic *bẹlgü-lig (“manifest”), a derivation of Proto-Turkic *bẹl- (“to denote, to designate”); cognate with Azerbaijani bəlli, Karakhanid بَلْكُلُكْ (belgülüg) and Kazakh белгілі (belgılı).
