- וַיִּפֶן כֹּה וָכֹה וַיַּרְא כִּי אֵין אִישׁ וַיַּךְ אֶת־הַמִּצְרִי וַיִּטְמְנֵהוּ בַּחוֹל׃
- vayífen kó vakhó vayár kí 'éin 'ísh vayákh 'et-hamitsrí vayitm'néhu bakhól.
wayyíp̄en kō wāḵō wayyar kī ʾēn ʾīš wayyaḵ ʾeṯ-hammiṣrī wayyiṭmənḗhū baḥōl. - And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

wəhī heʿĕlā́ṯam haggā́ḡā wattiṭmənēm bəp̄ištē hāʿēṣ hāʿărūḵōṯ lāh ʿal-haggāḡ. - But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had spread out upon the roof.
