Russian Invasion of Ukraine
During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the village's status has remained contested. There have been skirmishes and battles ongoing in the surrounding area, in the zone west of Avdiivka. Currently, most of the village is occupied, with only the extreme western portion near Pervomaiske being still contested.[3][4][5][6]

The population is unclear, however it is very likely most of the people were killed or fled for safer areas.[8]
