Jafarbay-ye Sharqi Rural District (Persian: دهستان جعفربای شرقی) is in Goldasht District of Gomishan County, Golestan province, Iran.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the former Gomishan District of Torkaman County) was 15,891 in 3,178 households.[4] There were 6,013 inhabitants in 1,340 households at the following census of 2011,[5]After the 2006 National Census, Gomishan District was separated from Torkaman County in the establishment of Gomishan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Gomishan as its capital.[3] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 6,605 in 1,695 households. The largest of its seven villages was Basirabad, with 3,259 people.[2]
