Etymology
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish والحاصل (velḥāṣıl),[1][2] from Arabic وَ (wa, “and”) + اَلْ (al-, “the”) + حَاصِل (ḥāṣil, “outcome, bottom line, sum”),[3] equivalent to ve + hasıl.
