Inherited from Proto-Slavic *věděti, from Proto-Indo-European *wóyde (“to know”), perfect of *weyd- (“to see, to know”).
Usage notes
- Vedeti is used in Kajkavian speeches of Gorski kotar and only sporadically in smaller groups of speeches along the Croatian-Slovene border.
