Etymology
From Old Albanian klumësht, further analysis is uncertain. Vladimir Orel following Meyer proposes a derivation from *clomostrum, borrowed through Vulgar Latin from Latin colostrum.[1] Wacław Cimochowski following Jokl proposes a derivation from Proto-Albanian *klumë + -sht, cognate with Lithuanian sluoju, Latin cluō and ancient Greek κλύζω (klúzō), all derived from Proto-Indo-European *ḱlewH-.[2]
