Sicilian
Alternative forms
- piciollu (masculine variant)
- ciolla (apheretic variant)
Etymology
Uncertain. Probably derived from/cognate with an Old Occitan stratum (because of the palatalization). Compare for more Galician pichola, Spanish picha/pichula, Portuguese picha, Italian pisello, Piedmontese piciu.

- Hyphenation: pi‧ciòl‧la

- Usually Sicilian speakers refer to male genitalia attributing the male gender to them because of Italian influence. Cfr. cazzo>cazzu.
