Borrowed from Middle Low German packen, from Proto-West Germanic *pakkō, from Proto-Germanic *pakkô (“bundle, pack”). Cognate with German Low German packen, Dutch pakken, Saterland Frisian pakje, West Frisian pakke, English pack.
