ἀνεψιός
See also: ανεψιός
Ancient Greek
Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *népōts. Some have suggested that it reflects Proto-Indo-European *h₂népōts, due to the initial ἀ-. Alternatively, it results from the prefixation of *sm̥- in Proto-Indo-European, but this is problematic, as that would yield *ἁνεψιός (*hanepsiós).
