Etymology
From Sanskrit राजवंश (rājavaṃśa, “dynasty”), from राज (rāja, “king”) + वंश (vaṃśa, “clan; family; lineage; race”). Same as ราช (râat, “royal”) + วงศ์ (wong, “clan; family; lineage; race”). Cognate with Modern Khmer រាជវង្ស (riəc vŭəng), Pali rājavaṃsa.
