Inherited from Prakrit 𑀧𑀸𑀭𑁂𑀯𑀬 (pārevaya), from Sanskrit पारावत (pā́rāvata, “remote, distant”), a compound of परा (parā, “distant”) + -वत् (-vat). Doublet of પારાવત (pārāvat).
