Borrowed from Classical Persian آدمی (ādamī), from Arabic آدَمِيّ (ʔādamiyy, human), from آدَم (ʔādam, Adam). Cognate with Hindustani آدمی (ādmī) / आदमी (ādmī), Punjabi ਆਦਮੀ (ādamī).
