1. (transitive) to pass, transfer, hand over, transmit, bring or take across

   ܠܲܡܦܹܝܕܵܐ ܦܝܼܫ ܠܹܗ ܡܘܼܥܒ݂ܪܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܝܼܕܵܐ ܠܐܝܼܕܵܐ. ― lampēdā pīš lēh muˁḇrā min īdā l-īdā. ― The torch was passed from hand to hand.

   ܡܘܼܥܒ݂ܸܪ ܠܹܗ ܡܸܠܚܵܐ ܐܸܠܘܿܗ̇. ― muˁḇir lēh milḥā illōh. ― He passed her the salt.

   ܘܐܲܢ݇ܬ ܒܸܬ ܡܲܥܒ݂ܪܸܬ ܠܗܘܿܢ ܦܲܪܨܘܿܦܵܐܝܼܬ݂ ܠܐܲܒ݂ܵܗܹ̈ܐ. ― w-at bit maˁḇrit lhōn parṣōpāˀīṯ l-aḇāhē. ― and you will hand them over personally to the parents.

   ܒܸܬ ܡܲܥܒ݂ܪܸܢ ܥܸܕܵܢܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܝܵܠܕ݇ܝܼ̈ ܡܚܵܪ ― bit maˁḇrin ˁiddānā min yālī mḥār ― I will spend time with my children tomorrow.

   ܡܘܼܥܒ݂ܸܪ ܠܲܢ ܩܲܝܛܵܐ ܓܵܘ ܝܵܘܵܢ ― muˁḇir lan qayṭā gāw yāwān ― We spent the summer in Greece.

3. (transitive) to cause to enter; to insert; to bring in, put through

   ܩܸܡ ܡܲܥܒ݂ܸܪ ܠܝܼ ܠܓܵܘ ܒܲܝܬܵܐ ܠܸܫܬܵܝܵܐ ܦܸܢܓܵܢܵܐ ܕܩܲܗܘܵܐ. ― qim maˁḇir lī lgāw baytā lištāyā pingānā d-qahwā. ― He brought me into the house for a cup of coffee.

   ܒܸܬ ܡܲܥܒ݂ܪܸܢ ܠܗܘܿܢ ܠܒ݂ܘܼܫܹ̈ܐ ܐܸܢ ܥܵܪܝܵܐ ܡܸܛܪܵܐ. ― bit maˁḇrin lhōn lḇūšē in ˁāryā miṭrā. ― I will bring in the clothes if the rain starts.
