- (historical) dovecote, a tower-like structure in which pigeons were kept
- pepperbox, a tower capped by a cupola, looking similar to a giant pepper shaker
- Martello tower, a short, sturdy, round masonry fort, usually built along the coast
- (nautical) small locker in the extreme stern of a Bosporus caique
