يقطين
Arabic
Etymology
Inconspicuous, of a rare pattern yaFʿīL – otherwise found only in يَعْضِيد (yaʕḍīd, “Launaea mucronata”) and يَعْقِيد (yaʕqīd, “thickened honey”) – but connected to the root ق ط ن (q-ṭ-n), so perhaps from a Semitic substrate.
