Etymology
First attested in c. 1503 as Middle Hindi مُن٘ہ (mũh, “indifferent”), inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀫𑀼𑀳 (muha), 𑀫𑀼𑀖 (mugha), from Sanskrit मुख (múkha, “mouth, face, visage”). Compare Punjabi مُون٘ہہ (mūṉh).
