подражать

Russian

Etymology

Probably derived from Old Church Slavonic дра́га (drága, road, path, way) (see доро́га (doróga)) and literally meaning “to go the same path that someone has gone”, “to follow in someone's footsteps”; over time, the meaning shifted to "to reproduce something or someone's actions".
