көмүс
Yakut
Etymology
From Proto-Turkic *kümüĺ ~ *gümüĺ (“silver”). The raising of *ü to /ø/ is irregular. Compare Kyrgyz күмүш (kümüş).
Furthermore, SakhaTyla[1] glosses this word in Russian as "серебро (serebro); золото (zoloto)", and in English as "that which has been buried; gold, silver". If true, this would suggest a link with көм (köm, “to bury”).
