Ταυλάντιοι

Ancient Greek

Etymology

Possibly from an Illyrian word meaning "swallow," from Proto-Indo-European *delh₁- (to cut) + *dwóh₁ (two), representing modern Albanian dallëndyshe (swallow). The name Taulantii appears to be connected with the word dallëndyshe, or tallandushe from Proto-Albanian *dalna and Proto-Albanian *duwai, meaning "swallow".[1]
