Etymology
From Middle Irish uirge (“testicle”), from Proto-Celtic *orgyā, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁órǵʰis. Cognates include Ancient Greek ὄρχις (órkhis), Old Armenian որձիք (orjikʻ, “testicles”), Avestan 𐬆𐬭𐬆𐬰𐬌 (ərəzi), and Hittite [script needed] (arkiš).
