From Proto-Indo-European *h₁órǵʰis + -ք (-kʻ). See also որձ (orj), յորձ (yorj). Proto-Georgian-Zan *werʒ₁- may be an Armenian borrowing.
Usage notes
The singular *որձի (*orji) is not attested.
