Sonqorabad (Persian: سنقرآباد, also Romanized as Sonqorābād)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Chahardangeh Rural District of the Central District of Chaharbagh County, Alborz province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,376 in 337 households, when it was in Ramjin Rural District of the former Chaharbagh District, Savojbolagh County, Tehran province.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,777 people in 564 households,[2] by which time the county had become a part of the newly established Alborz province.[6]
In September 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Chaharbagh County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Chaharbagh as its capital and only city.[4]
