Shamil-e Bala (Persian: شميل بالا, also Romanized as Shamīl-e Bālā)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Ashkara Rural District of Fareghan District, Hajjiabad County, Hormozgan province, Iran.
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,411 in 564 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 3,392 people in 895 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,028 people in 921 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
