Popice is a municipality and village in Břeclav District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,000 inhabitants.
Popice lies approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) north-west of Břeclav, 31 km (19 mi) south of Brno, and 208 km (129 mi) south-east of Prague.
History
The first written mention of Popice is from 1291, when the village was sold to the convent in Dolní Kounice.[2]
