Mohammadabad Rural District (Persian: دهستان محمدآباد) is in the Central District of Karaj County, Alborz province, Iran. It is administered from the city of Mohammadshahr.[3]
At the census of 2006, its population (as a part of Tehran province) was 22,099 in 5,788 households,[4] and in the most recent census of 2016, it had decreased to 11,939 in 2,293 households, by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province.[5] The largest of its 13 villages was Aliabad-e Guneh, with 3,256 people.[2]
