Kahshang Rural District (Persian: دهستان كاهشنگ) is in the Central District of Birjand County, South Khorasan province, Iran.[3] Its capital is the village of Marak.[4]

At the National Census of 2006, its population was 3,991 in 1,155 households.[5] There were 3,338 inhabitants in 1,092 households at the following census of 2011.[6] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 3,737 in 1,210 households. The largest of its 49 villages was Marak, with 569 people.[2]
