Faraghi (Persian: فراغي), formerly Pishkamar (پيش كمر), also Romanized as Pīshkamar and Pīsh Kamar; also known as Tekcha,[3] is a city in Pishkamar District of Kalaleh County, Golestan province, Iran.
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,632 in 614 households, when it was a village in Zavkuh Rural District of the Central District.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 5,104 people in 1,330 households,[5] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Pishkamar District.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,777 people in 1,610 households,[2] when the village of Pishkamar had been elevated to the status of a city and renamed Faraghi.[7]
