  1. The belief that a certain group of people are far more superior compared to anyone else, such as those who belong to it are entitled to dominate, control, or rule those who do not. The supposed superior people can also be defined by age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, language, social class, ideology, nation, culture, or belonging to any other part of a particular population.
