1. (somewhat colloquial, usually in the definite) ongoing (usually commercial, but also more general) operations (often involving circulation in some sense, for example of customers or goods); running, operations, business, commerce, etc.

   Margit sköter ruljangsen i butiken medan Nisse är borta

   Margit runs [handles the ongoing business activity in] the shop while Nisse is away

   Det har varit en otrolig ruljangs i mellandagarna

   Business has been booming during the holidays [There has been an incredible circulation of customers between Christmas and New Years]

2. (somewhat colloquial, usually in the definite) circulation (of people, in certain positions or the like); turnover

   Det har varit en jäkla ruljangs i truppen i år

   There has been one hell of a turnover in the [for example soccer] squad this year

"Roll" might provide intuition. Likely intuitively connected to rulla (“roll”) by many native speakers as well (in addition to being etymologically connected).
