Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Turkic *bedük (“big”), equivalent to pʾdw (bedü-, “to grow”) + -k (-k).[1] Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰋𐰓𐰜 (bedük), Khalaj bidük, Turkish büyük, Uzbek buyuk, Bashkir бөйөк (böyök).
