Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish محزون (maḥzun, saddened, grieved, sorry, melancholy),[1][2] from Arabic مَحْزُون (maḥzūn), passive participle of حَزَنَ (ḥazana, to make sad, to sadden).[3]
