Also lëngatë under the influence of lëng ~ lang. From Proto-Albanian *leugatā, related to Illyrian *Lougeon (Strabo 7.43), Lithuanian liūgas (“marsh”), Proto-Slavic *luža (“pool”). Analyzable as lag + -at(ë).[1]
