From Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀕𑀚𑁆𑀛 (gajjha)), from Sanskrit गार्ह्य (gārhya, domestic), from गृह (gṛha, house). Cognate with Romani gaʒo, Jerusalem Domari kadža, Aleppo Domari kaǧǧã (man).
