Etymology 1
Probably from a South Slavic language or Slovak kadár. Compare dialectal Slovene kadar (“cooper”). Probably from Proto-Slavic *kadъ (“tub”). The noun Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value) is definitely not from the noun kád (“tub”) because the suffix -ár is characteristic in words created during the Hungarian language reform, which took place in the 18th–19th centuries.[1][2]
