From Old Irish duilesc (compare Scottish Gaelic duileasg), from Proto-Celtic *doliskos, *duliskos (compare Welsh delysg), from Proto-Indo-European *dʰelh₁- (to bloom, be green) (compare duille (leaf)).[1]
