Cognates include Lithuanian ausìs, Old Prussian ausins (accusative plural), Proto-Slavic *uxo, Gothic 𐌰𐌿𐍃𐍉 (ausō) (< Proto-Germanic *ausô, Old High German ōra, German Ohr, Avestan 𐬎𐬱𐬌 (uši, “both ears, mind, reason”), Ancient Greek οὖς (oûs), Latin auris (< *ausis).[1]
