Tute

German
Etymology
Borrowed from Middle Low German tûte (“conical object”). Doublet of Tüte. It is usually thought that the verb tuten (“to toot, hoot”) is an originally unrelated onomatopoeia, though both words have certainly influenced each other. Alternatively, the verb might have been derived from the noun or vice versa. Related to English tote.
